James served as a board member and executive range officer for several years in the 1990s to early 2000s time frame. He was very active with range maintenance and range improvements and produced the club newsletter for several years as well. He was proceeded by his spouse Donna Morris, who was also a board member and the club secretary in the 1990s, until cancer took her away at approximately 40 years old. James was a silhouette shooter and an African big game hunting enthusiast that had taken those African hunting trips with some of his HCR&PC friends. He was engaged to Kelley Jackson when he passed. His livelihood was forging custom anvils that were sold worldwide to high stakes farriers.
