CMP Rifle Match

The Club holds CMP Sanctioned Matches this year on the Third Saturdays of May, June, August and November from 12:30-5:30 in the event of range repairs on a given Saturday the match will run from the end of work (around 3-4 PM) until sunset. These are combination Vintage Military Rifle, Springfield and John C. Garand matches. M-1 Carbines may shoot in the John C. Garand matches.
All rifle must be in “as issued” condition. No Scopes, Sporters or Special Target Variations, and have a 3.5 lb or greater trigger pull. Garands must have original military triggers and a 4.5 lb or greater trigger pull. No Exceptions!
Participants in Bolt gun and Garand matches will need 35 rounds of ammo and one stripper or two en-block clips. Ball 30-06 ammo is available (for match use only) at $10 for 35 rounds. Participants using M-1 Carbines will need 35 rounds of ammo and two magazines. All shooting is done using magazines with 5 round loadings. Reloads are allowed in bolt guns and M-1 carbines. Garands are restricted to factory ball ammo (Commercial or Surplus).
Matches are shot at 100 yards on the SR-1 Target.
Match fee is $10 ($5 for each additional event)
A special Prize will be given to the participant who shoots the highest score in the August match with a rifle made by (or for) a nation that participated in World War I. The Guns of August Match. A post war date is acceptable as long as the model was used during WWI.
