This club is dedicated to the safe, responsible, legal use and enjoyment of firearms. Our rules are intended to ensure that our members can use their firearms and our facility in safety and comfort This range has been in operation since 1961 and our rules are based upon this experience, the advice of our insurance carrier, the NRA, club bylaws and the laws of the local jurisdictions.
General
This range is open to the public during scheduled matches or at times designated by the Board of Directors. It is for our club members, associate members and guests.
Associate members are members' spouse, minor children living at home and dependent college students. An associate must be 18 years old to use the range without a sponsoring member present.
Minors are to be directly supervised by an adult member at all times. An adult member must directly supervise all minors who are shooting. Children are not permitted to play on the firing line, on the stairs, in the clubhouse or in the equipment area.
The host member must supervise any guest and is responsible and accountable for the guest understanding and following the range rules. The host is limited to two guests and is responsible for the guests' fees being paid to the range officer before shooting. Associate members may not bring guests. Non-shooting guests are not required to pay the guest fee. Members with guests may be limited to two firing points.
The firing line is open for shooting only when scheduled in the club calendar and shooting times can be scheduled only from 8 am to sunset. Shooting is not allowed before or after the posted and scheduled times. Shooting is allowed only if a range officer is on the range. There are no exceptions.
The member's key, badge or membership card may not be duplicated or loaned. The members badge should be worn in a visible location when on the range. The membership card and photo I.D. must be present for inspection when requested by a range officer or member. All guest must wear an orange guest badge while on Club property.
Each member is responsible for locking the gate upon entering and leaving the range. Members and guests must each sign the register with times in and out upon entering or leaving the range, whether or not they are shooting.
Organized, approved and scheduled matches have precedence over all other shooting. During matches, the range is under the control of the match director.
Digging or mining in the berms is strictly forbidden.
Each shooter is to police his or her firing point, sweeping up brass and disposing of used targets or other trash properly. All club equipment is to be stored properly after use.
Only the club Board of directors can amend, create or suspend a club rule. When necessary, the Board of Directors will post temporary rules on the range rule board. Members should regularly check the range rule board for these changes.
All targets must be within the black area of the portable frame and positioned to minimize frame damage.
Targets are to be set so that bullets go into the berms and so that no bullets strike the baffles or posts. Special purpose frames are limited to supervised use.
All shooting must be within the shooting lane. Cross firing is not allowed.
Firearms or ammunition shall not be permitted in the clubhouse, except those necessary for instructional purposes during scheduled classes.
No smoking in the clubhouse, range officer's hut or during matches under the covered firing area.
Range Safety Rules
The Range Officer is in complete charge of the range. He or she is responsible for insuring that the club rules are followed. The Range Officer has the authority to remove anyone for failure to comply with the club rules and safety standards.
Firearms on the range are to be treated/handled as being loaded at all times and pointed in a safe direction.
No intoxicating beverages or controlled substances are permitted on the range at any time. No one under the slightest influence of these shall be permitted to enter or remain on the range.
Firearms to be used on this 'range shall be unloaded while entering or leaving. Uncased firearms must have the action open and muzzle pointed upward.
All unattended firearms shah be made safe. Firearms are considered attended while in the shooters grasp. Never leave a loaded firearm unattended.
Prior to cease-fire lights being turned on, all firearms shall be made safe.
Rifles shall be unloaded, have the actions kept open, magazines emptied or removed, if removable. Rifles shall be placed in the racks provided or may be left on bench with a yellow open bolt indicator installed.
Pistols shall be unloaded and left lying on the bench with actions open, magazines emptied or removed, if removable, cylinder open or loading gate open (depending on the type) and a yellow open bolt indicator installed. Unloaded pistols may be cased.
Guns are not to be handled during cease-fires.
Everyone remaining on the firing line is to stay behind the red line during cease-fires.
It is strictly prohibited to fire at rocks, bottles, cans, animals, aerial targets, human or tombstone representations or anything other than a paper target on a proper frame. Informal practice for metallic matches will be at paper targets. Practice on metallic targets shall be as scheduled by the Board of Directors. Official CHL targets may be used on the short range only.
Eye and hearing protection must be worn while on the premises, when firing takes place.
Firearm and ammunition restrictions.
No fully automatic firearms.
No fanning or shooting from the hip.
Loading of semi-automatic shotguns or semi-automatic center-fire rifles is limited to no more than 5 rounds.
Tracer, incendiary or armor piercing ammunition is prohibited.
Rifles chambered for the .50 Browning machine gun cartridge or larger are not permitted, except black powder muzzle loading rifles and pistols.
All firing will cease when construction activity begins. The range is to be made safe and cease-fire status posted.
No one is permitted to draw from a holster (or other means of carry or concealment) and fire.
Firearms shall not be worn in public view. Law enforcement officers in uniform or on official business are exempt from this rule.
All loading and shooting shall be forward of the red line.

DESCRIPTION OF SEPARATE SHOOTING RANGES
Range:
A.
This is the Short Pistol Range, the CHL, or the enclosed pistol range with the overhead retractable target units.
B.
This area includes the two Falling Plate Units. Just to the right of the Short Pistol Range.
C.
50 Yd. Pistol Range, this area is just to the right of The falling plate units and extends to the main sidewalk. Shooting directly into the 50 yd. berm.
D.
100 Yd. Rifle Range, this is the area just to the right of the main sidewalk and extends to the end of the 100 yd. berm. Shooting directly into the 100 yd. berm.
E.
200 Yd. Range, just right of the 100 yd. range and
the end of the 100 yd. berm. Includes last four benches on the firing line. Shooting directly into the 200 yd. berm.
